SUSTAINABILITY PROGRAMME AT TURTLE CONSERVATION CENTRE

On December 9, 2023, about 60 staff of Gas Business have participated in Sustainability Programme at the Turtle Conservation and Information Centre in Melaka. The objective of this programme is to raise awareness about the importance of beach cleanliness for environmental conservation and to actively promote efforts to ensure the increase of turtle species and prevent their endangerment.

Some of the activities conducted include Mural Painting, Turtle Egg Sanctuary Clean-Up, and Beach Cleaning. This initiative serves to boost staff motivation and facilitate long-term team building by fostering genuine connections and collaboration beyond regular work responsibilities.

GAS Business Vice President, En Hazrin Hasan expressed that the primary aim of this programme is to elevate awareness regarding the critical importance of beach cleanliness in environmental conservation efforts, while also actively championing initiatives aimed at bolstering turtle species populations and mitigating their endangerment.

He also added that the initiative not only seeks to galvanise staff motivation but also aims to cultivate enduring bonds and foster a collaborative spirit beyond the confines of routine work obligations. This holistic approach underscores our commitment to environmental stewardship and underscores the profound impact of collective action in safeguarding our natural ecosystems.

MISC PARTNERS WITH PENGERANG LNG (TWO) SDN. BHD. FOR LNG FLOATING STORAGE UNIT PROJECT

MISC has entered into a binding Heads of Agreement (HOA) with Pengerang LNG (Two) Sdn. Bhd. (PLNG2SB), a subsidiary of PETRONAS Gas Berhad (PGB), for the supply, operation, and maintenance of a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Floating Storage Unit (FSU) intended to be deployed at the PETRONAS LNG Regasification Terminal Pengerang (RGTP) in Johor.

Signing the HOA on behalf of MISC was En Hazrin Hasan, Vice President GAS while PLNG2SB was represented by its CEO, En Hisham Maaulot and witnessed by En Raja Azlan Shah Raja Azwa, Vice President Finance, and En Abdul Aziz Othman, PGB MD/CEO.

MISC Management Committee Members, Mr Alex Brigden, Vice President OBU, Capt Peter Liew, MD/CEO of Eaglestar and En Pandai Othman, MD/CEO of MHB, as well as other colleagues from MISC, PGB, PLL, were also present.

SERI DAMAI AND SERI DAYA BEEN RECOGNISED WITH THE PRESTIGIOUS GREEN SHIP STATUS

Singapore Registry of Ships Forum 2023 has recognised Seri Damai and Seri Daya with the prestigious Green Ship status under the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s (MPA) Green Ship Programme (GSP).

En Hazrin Hasan, Vice President GAS, represented MISC to receive the award. Seri Damai and Seri Daya stand as the pioneering vessels in MISC's LNG fleet to attain the Green Ship status, making them the second and third vessel within the Group, following our dual-fuel very large crude carrier, Eagle Valence.

We will continuously sail on this green journey towards our #MISC2030, steering the industry towards a cleaner and more sustainable future.
