POWERING THE FUTURE OF SUSTAINABLE PARTNERSHIPS
On 16 December 2024, MISC reaffirmed its commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions through strategic partnerships with PETRONAS LNG Ltd. (PLL) with the signing of the Time Charter Parties (TCPs) for two newbuild Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) carriers.
The new LNG carriers are a key component of MISC’s strategic intent to rejuvenate its fleet with modern, efficient vessels that align seamlessly with its broader sustainability objectives. These vessels underscore MISC’s commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and intensity by 2030, reinforcing its position as a global leader in LNG shipping.
This milestone builds upon the foundational progress established through the signing of a Collaborative Shipping Framework Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between MISC and PETRONAS LNG Sdn. Bhd. (PLSB) on 25 November 2024. The MOU was signed by Mr. Zahid Osman, President and Group Chief Executive Officer of MISC Group and Mr. Shamsairi M. Ibrahim, Vice President of LNG Marketing and Trading at PETRONAS.
During the same event on 25 November, MISC also entered into a strategic collaboration with Gentari Hydrogen Sdn. Bhd. (Gentari) to develop integrated shipping and floating solutions for clean ammonia. This partnership aspires to deliver seamless end-to-end sustainable energy transportation solutions by 2027, reflecting a shared commitment to shaping a more resilient future.

The signatories were Mr. Wong Zun Haur, Head of Business Development, New Energy Division, MISC Berhad, and Mr. Nizam Ahmadi Shah Abdul Hakim, Head of Marketing and Sales, Gentari Hydrogen. The signing ceremony was graced by the presence of Datuk Adif Zulkifli, Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Gas and Maritime Business, PETRONAS, who also served as a distinguished witness, along with other honorable guests such as representatives of MISC Board of Directors and key leadership team of MISC, PLSB, as well as Gentari.
These strategic partnerships underscore our shared commitment to leading the charge in sustainable energy solutions, with a clear focus on innovation, collaboration, and long-term environmental stewardship. As we continue to forge new pathways in LNG shipping and clean energy transportation, MISC remains committed to shaping a sustainable future for both the energy and maritime industries.
