MISC Welcomes Delegation from PETRONAS and MLNG Aboard LNG Carrier, Seri Ayu
We welcomed a distinguished delegation, comprising of leaders from PETRONAS and the Malaysia LNG Sdn Bhd (MLNG) aboard its LNG Carrier, Seri Ayu, at the Bintulu LNG Terminal on 26th August 2024.
The delegation included Datuk Adif Bin Zulkifli, PETRONAS Executive Vice President & CEO of Gas & Maritime Business, Mr. Abang Yusuf Bin Abang Puteh, Senior Vice President of LNG Asset, Mr. Mohamed Syazwan Bin Abdullah @ Laga Jenggi, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysia LNG Group of Companies, and Captain Peter Liew, Managing Director, MISC Marine (Ship Management), among others.
During the visit, the leaders toured the vessel, gaining valuable insights into of its key operational areas. This experience not only enhanced their appreciation of the vessel’s capabilities but also reinforced our collaborative efforts with PETRONAS and MLNG, strengthening our shared commitment to operational excellence.
Built in 2007 by Samsung Shipbuilding & Heavy Industries, Seri Ayu has been serving PETRONAS’ LNG transportation needs for nearly 17 years. As of 31st July 2024, the vessel has transported 286 cargoes, amounting to a total of 39.47 million cubic meters for PETRONAS. With a cargo capacity of 145,000 cubic meters, Seri Ayu continues to play a pivotal role in supporting the Bintulu LNG Terminal, underscoring its significance in maritime logistics and long-standing partnership with PETRONAS.

MISC Hosts the Annual MISC Group Appreciation Reception in Japan
The MISC Group Appreciation Reception in Tokyo on 6th September 2024, saw over 150 stakeholders, including business partners and service providers, who came together to celebrate the enduring partnerships that have driven our mutual success and collaboration in the maritime industry.
Special guests included H.E. Ambassador Dato’ Shahril Effendi Abd Ghany, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan, along with key personnel from the Malaysian Embassy, including representatives from MIDA, MATRADE and Tourism Malaysia.
MISC’s President & Group CEO, Mr. Zahid Osman, together with senior leadership including Mr. Hazrin Hasan, Vice President, GAS Assets & Solutions, Mr. Afendy Mohamed Ali, Vice President, Group Finance, Mr. Raja Azlan Shah Raja Azwa, Vice President, Corporate Planning and Captain Peter Liew, Managing Director, MISC Marine (Ship Management) warmly hosted the reception.
In his speech, Mr. Zahid Osman highlighted MISC’s pride in its longstanding partnership with Japan, likening them to a banyan tree, a symbol of strength and longevity in many Asian cultures and embodies the essence of deep-rooted connections. A well-known tale highlights a large banyan tree that provided shade and shelter to a village, thriving not only due to its size but also because of its interconnected roots, which enhanced its stability. MISC’s partnership with its Japanese stakeholders have thrived over the years, fostering mutual resilience and success. Built on a foundation of trust, meaningful collaboration, and a shared commitment to a sustainable future, these partnerships continue to drive progress in the maritime and energy industries.
Since 1983, MISC has delivered nearly 400 million metric tonnes of LNG for PETRONAS to Japan. Another significant milestone was achieved in January this year when MISC’s LNG carrier, Puteri Mutiara Satu, delivered the 100th cargo to the Sakaide Terminal.


MISC Celebrates 56th Years Anniversary of Moving Energy
MISC Group celebrated its 56th years of establishment in the industry as the global maritime leader on the 6th of November 2024.
The celebration brought everyone together to reflect on the progress and the journey that the group have created. Taking the opportunity, the group also commemorated the success of the First Oil and Final Acceptance of Marechal Duque de Caxias happened on the 30th of October, recently.
This anniversary was not only celebrated by the people at Menara Dayabumi, but together with other colleagues around the globe making it a global celebration honoring 56th years of our progress.
